Unconfirmed reports said the talented young chess player died from a stroke

MOSCOW, January 12. /TASS/. Russia’s 20-year-old chess phenomenon, Grandmaster Ivan Bukavshin, died on Tuesday.

Unconfirmed reports said the talented young chess player died from a stroke.

Born on May 3, 1995 in Russia’s southern city of Rostov-on-Don, Bukavshin won the titles U12 European champion in 2006, U14 European Youth Champion in 2008 and U16 European champion in 2010.

Last month, Bukavshin won the 11th Russian Ugra Governor’s Cup and then proceeded to the victory in the Russian Cup knockout tournament, also held in December 2015.
