According to the newspaper, Hubert Aiwanger has most likely died because of health problems

BERLIN, November 5. /TASS/. Hubert Aiwanger, leader of Germany’s Free Voters (FW) party and Bavaria’s economy minister, has most likely died because of health problems, Der Tagesspiegel reported, citing sources.

According to the sources, so far, there are no signs of death by violence. Party sources said that he had been scheduled to give an interview on Wednesday morning, but he canceled it because he was feeling unwell. Later, they were unable to reach him.

The Bild newspaper reported earlier that Aiwanger had been found dead in Berlin’s Neuer Fritz hotel. The Free Voters opened an office in Berlin on Wednesday. Aiwanger, 55, did not attend the opening because he had complained of feeling unwell. He remained at his hotel.

The Free Voters, as the junior coalition partner, form the Bavarian state government together with the Christian Social Union (CSU). As the FW leader, Aiwanger served as deputy to Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Soeder.
