FSB nabs Russian working for Kiev regime plotting terror blast in Kursk Region

It is reported that two improvised explosive devices, a traumatic weapon with ammunition, Nazi literature and other items and documents confirming the illegal activities of the detained man were seized from his home

MOSCOW, May 12. /TASS/. Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has taken a resident of the Kursk Region into custody who was plotting a terrorist attack in coordination with Ukrainian intelligence services, the FSB said in a statement on Thursday.

"The Federal Security Service and the Interior Ministry have detained a resident of the Kursk region who planned to carry out explosions at one or more crowded infrastructure facilities in Kursk," the statement reads. The man intended to conduct terrorist attacks "in order to disrupt the activities of government agencies and influence their decision on ending the special military operation [in Ukraine]," the FSB added.

"The individual in custody has made a confession, revealing his plans to leave for Ukraine after committing the crime," the statement added.

According to the FSB, two improvised explosive devices, a traumatic weapon with ammunition, Nazi literature and other items and documents confirming the illegal activities of the detained man were seized from his home.

A criminal case has been opened against the detainee under Articles 30.1 and 205.1 of the Russian Criminal Code (plotting a terrorist attack).
