TURKMENBASHI /Turkmenistan/, October 7. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov pointed to attempts by the Kiev regime to disrupt elections in Russia immediately after Moscow accepted a US proposal to hold a trilateral meeting on Ukraine.
Speaking at a press conference following a meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Council of Foreign Ministers, Lavrov recalled Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statement that the United States had proposed holding such trilateral talks and that Moscow had agreed to work out all the details after the election to the State Duma, the lower house of Russia's parliament. "But immediately after we responded in this way to the American proposal, the Kiev regime began doing everything it could to try to disrupt the State Duma election," Lavrov stressed.
He noted that "throughout all three days, especially on September 20, an unprecedented number of terrorist attacks [were carried out by the Kiev regime] against civilian targets, including polling stations housing precinct election commissions. Several people were injured, and there was even one fatality."
