Russia to thwart any missile attacks on its territory — Medvedev

The Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman stressed that "what is happening now crosses all red lines," referring to American ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles attacks on Russia

DUBAI, November 27. /TASS/. Any missile strikes that are carried out on Russian territory are unacceptable and will be thwarted, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said in an interview with the Al Arabiya TV channel.

"It is absolutely clear that strikes are unacceptable. Any strikes will be thwarted," he said.

"And, in fact, this is what the president of our country said yesterday - that in the strikes carried out with American ATACMS missiles on the Bryansk Region, these missiles were hit and did not reach their targets. But undoubtedly, what is happening now crosses all red lines," the official said.

According to him, this is why Russia used its newest Oreshnik hypersonic intermediate-range ballistic missile.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that on November 19, six American ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles attacked Russia, while on November 21, British Storm Shadow missiles struck military facilities in the Bryansk and Kursk Regions. At the same time, the Russian air defense systems repelled the attacks, and the enemy did not achieve its goals.
