RuStore surpasses AppStore in terms of user audience in Russia — minister

Maksut Shadayev noted that Chinese developers have increased investments in promoting their applications in the store fivefold this year and spent 60 million rubles ($590,088)

MOSCOW, December 28. /TASS/. RuStore, the domestic app store for the devices using the Android OS, has surpassed the American AppStore in terms of the number of users in Russia, and the number of its installations has reached 80 million devices, Minister of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev told TASS.

"In two and a half years, RuStore has surpassed the American AppStore in terms of audience, the number of installations of the store has reached 80 million devices, 50,000 applications are already available in it, about 30% of which are foreign from China, Japan, the CIS countries and elsewhere," the minister said.

He noted that Chinese developers have increased investments in promoting their applications in the store fivefold this year and spent 60 million rubles ($590,088).

RuStore is the official Russian store of mobile applications for Android. RuStore is developing VK together with the largest Russian IT companies with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation.
