MOSCOW, March 29. /TASS/. Work toward introducing a digital ruble is slated to be completed by the end of this year, First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov said on Wednesday.
"Plans call for creating the regulatory, technical and organizational conditions for introducing the digital ruble. This work has entered the final stage; it is slated to be completed already this year. The State Duma passed the relevant bill in the first reading on March 16. It is also anticipated that opportunities will be provided for executing transactions with digital currencies within the traditional financial infrastructure on the securities exchange with the participation of brokers," Belousov noted.
This will enable executing transactions in the organized market, which will increase their liquidity and attractiveness for both investors and issuers, he added.
