Putin calls to forgo raw timber export

It is reported that special measures to support a number of sectors of the national economy were taken earlier

NOVO-OGAREVO, January 17. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin urged to forgo exports of raw timber and supply products with the high added value.

"There is a need to abandon exports of round wood, unprocessed raw materials, and deliver everything to the domestic market. Products with the high added value should be supplied to the internal market. This process should be expedited at present. All the objective grounds and abilities are in place to do so," the head of state said at a videoconference meeting on Tuesday.

Special measures to support a number of sectors of the national economy were taken earlier, the President added.
