Russian military units so far received 33,000 mobilized troops — Putin

Vladimir Putin said the mobilization efforts will be wrapped up within about two weeks

ASTANA, October 14. /TASS/. Russian armed forces units have so far received 33,000 troops that were mobilized and about half of them have been assigned combat missions, Russian President Vladimir Putin told reporters on Friday.

"I said 222,000 [mobilized people] are now part of troops forming units, so 33,000 mobilized people are stationed in units and 16,000 are stationed in units that are assigned combat missions," the president said.

Putin said the mobilization efforts will be wrapped up within about two weeks.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 21 signed a decree to hold a partial military mobilization. Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said that 300,000 people are subject to conscription from the reserve, primarily those that have combat experience and the military specialty that’s required by the troops.
