MOSCOW, February 20. /TASS/. All laser systems Peresvet, currently in the experimental operation phase in the armed forces, will enter combat duty in December, Russian President Vladimir Putin told the Federal Assembly on Wednesday.
"Laser systems Peresvet and aviation complexes armed with hypersonic missiles Kinzhal have confirmed their unique parameters during experimental combat duty. The personnel has obtained the experience of their operation. In December this year all Peresvet systems provided for the armed forces will enter combat duty," Putin said.
Research and development is continuing for the cutting-edge weapon systems that were mentioned in last year’s message, he remarked.
"The work is going on rhythmically, without disruptions and according to a plan. The system Avangard I’ve already mentioned has begun to be produced serially. This year the first strategic missile regiment will be armed with it, just as it was originally expected. The heavy inter-continental ballistic missile Sarmat of unprecedented power is undergoing a cycle of tests," Putin said.
He promised that efforts would continue to expand the infrastructure for the MiG-31 planes armed with Kinzhal missiles.
"The unlimited range cruise missile with a nuclear power plant Burevestnik is being tested successfully," Putin stated.
