US says Europe could join trilateral Ukraine talks — Trump's son-in-law

"Creating the right structure will be critical to ending this war," Jared Kushner said

WASHINGTON, November 6. /TASS/. The US administration believes the trilateral format for talks on resolving the Ukraine conflict could eventually be expanded to include Washington's European allies, US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner said.

"All parties remain intensely engaged in preparing for substantive and productive negotiations," he wrote on X, referring to next week's trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi involving representatives of Russia, the US and Ukraine. "We will consult closely with our European partners on the sidelines and, if progress is made, aim to move toward a broader multilateral format with their direct participation," Kushner added.

"These ideas continue to evolve, and we welcome thoughtful input," Trump's son-in-law noted. "Creating the right structure will be critical to ending this war and transitioning from conflict toward conditions that make possible a durable peace," he said.

Reuters reported on November 2 that Kushner and US presidential special envoy Steve Witkoff are expected to represent the United States at the trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi on November 10-11.

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the Abu Dhabi negotiations would address mutual security guarantees for Russia and Ukraine. Presidential Aide Vladimir Medinsky will lead Moscow’s delegation. Peskov previously said European representatives could not participate in the Ukraine talks in Abu Dhabi because a trilateral format had been agreed at the outset.
