Iran has no plans for direct meetings with US officials — foreign minister

The American side’s attempt to open the door to dialogue and understanding more broadly is a positive step, Abbas Araghchi said

DOHA, October 31. /TASS/. Tehran currently has no plans to hold direct meetings with US officials, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said.

"What is being circulated in this regard is merely media speculation," Araghchi told Qatar’s Al Jazeera.

"We see no need to meet with the Americans at present. Our conditions are clear, and mediators are continuing their consultations regarding them," he added.

"The American side’s attempt to open the door to dialogue and understanding more broadly is a positive step," the minister said, commenting on Tehran’s review of a message from US Vice President JD Vance.
