Houthis launch missile strike on displacement camp in Yemen’s Marib Governorate — TV

Al Arabiya said eyewitnesses had seen missiles launched from the Yemeni capital before the strike

DOHA, August 7. /TASS/. Houthi rebels from Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement carried out a missile strike on a camp for internally displaced persons in the country’s Marib Governorate, causing casualties, the Saudi-owned Al Arabiya TV channel reported, citing Yemeni military sources.

According to the sources, the Houthis targeted residential areas in Marib, with several casualties reported at a camp for displaced persons. The broadcaster said eyewitnesses had seen missiles launched from the Yemeni capital before the strike.

Earlier, the Aden al-Ghad news website reported, citing a military source, that Yemeni army air defenses had shot down a drone launched by the Houthis toward Marib. The Al-Mashhad al-Yemeni media outlet also reported that the group had carried out drone and missile strikes on the city on Friday morning. According to the joint operations command of the government forces, attacks on army positions in the Marib and Hadramaut governorates killed 17 service members and wounded several others.

On August 6, the Houthis carried out a large-scale strike on military camps in eastern Yemen, killing at least 45 government troops, according to Al Hadath television. On the same day, the Saudi city of Najran came under attack by the Houthis, leaving 11 civilians injured.
