KAZAN, May 15. /TASS/. The risks of a major conflict in the Middle East remain amid the lack of agreements between the US and Iran, Walid Hamed Shiltag, the Arab League’s ambassador to Moscow, told TASS on the sidelines of the Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum event.
The diplomat was asked whether the danger of a major conflict in the region had been averted. "In my opinion, risks remain because there is still no definitive agreement between the US and Iran," he replied. According to Schiltag, Arab states, particularly those in the Persian Gulf, have also been affected by this conflict. "That is why we are waiting for the conclusion of some kind of good agreement that will establish peace and security in the region, and that respects security, sovereignty, non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries, and free trade," he stressed.
The 17th international economic event Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum is taking place from May 12 to 17. TASS is its main media partner.
