"The Carpathians will soon be bald there," the president said

VOLGOGRAD, February 2. /TASS/. Cases of fertile land and timber being sold in Ukraine are emerging, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday at a meeting with representatives of patriotic and youth organizations.

"I do not know who is selling Ukraine’s fertile land but the fact remains that it is happening. They are also selling timber, although there is not too much of it, not like in Siberia. The Carpathians will soon be bald there," Putin said.

Sales of fertile land in Ukraine are still taking place, the Russian leader noted. "It is up to them," he added.
