Mass marches condemning terrorist attack in Shiraz held in Iran — news agency

The participants marched in Tehran after Friday prayers from Tehran University to Revolution Square

MOSCOW, October 28. /TASS/. Mass demonstrations of protest against the terrorist attack at the Shah Cheragh Shrine in Shiraz took place in Iran on Friday. Local residents of Tehran and many other cities took to the streets at the call of the head of the Islamic development coordination council in Tehran province, Hojatoleslam Seyed Mohsen Mahmoudi, the Tasnim news agency reports.

The participants in the demonstration of protest against the terrorist attack committed by extremists in the Shah Cheragh Shrine marched in Tehran after Friday prayers from Tehran University to Revolution Square. They declared their hatred for the masterminds of the attack and disgust for plots by US and Israel-linked mercenaries.

On Wednesday, three unidentified gunmen opened fire at the Shah Cheragh Shrine in Shiraz, Fars province. According to the latest reports, 15 people were killed and 27 others injured. Tasnim quotes a well-informed security service source as saying that according to preliminary findings the attack was carried out by radical Wahhabis who took advantage of the recent easing of security measures.
