BEIJING, May 22. /TASS/. The United States’ Indo-Pacific strategy is a strategy of instigating confrontation and undermining peace, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Sunday after talks with his Pakistani counterpart, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in Guangzhou.
"The United States’ Indo-Pacific strategy causes serious concern in the world, especially in the countries of the Asia Pacific region," the Chinese foreign ministry quoted him as saying.
According to the Chinese top diplomat, the actual aim of this strategy is to try to contain China and make Asia Pacific countries to act as pawn amid the United States’ hegemony.
"Facts will demonstrate that the so-called Indo-Pacific strategy is a strategy of creating artificial gaps, a strategy of instigating confrontation, a strategy of undermining peace," he said, adding that whatever this strategy may be presented, it is doomed to failure in the long run.
