Canada imposed sanctions against several Russian public figures

The Canadian authorities have added Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Editor-in-chief of RT channel Margarita Simonyan, TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov, Channel One CEO Konstantin Ernst, businessman Oleg Deripaska and five other people to their sanctions lists

OTTAWA, March 7. /TASS/. The Canadian authorities have added Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Editor-in-chief of RT channel Margarita Simonyan, TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov, Channel One CEO Konstantin Ernst, businessman Oleg Deripaska and five other people to their sanctions lists due to Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, the Canadian government announced on Monday.

In addition, Russia’s Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev, Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko, Chairman of the Committee on State Building and Legislation Pavel Krasheninnikov, as well as Viktor Gavrilov and Dmitry Ivanov, were subject to restrictions.

Earlier Monday, at a press conference in London, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that the Canadian authorities were imposing sanctions against another 10 individuals from Russia.
