Fake vaccination certificates especially dangerous as people’s health is at stake — Putin

Earlier, the Interior Ministry warned about criminal responsibility for fake coronavirus vaccination certificates

MOSCOW, June 30./TASS/. Fake coronavirus vaccination certificates are nothing but a scam and a dangerous kind of crime, as it involves human health, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during his annual Direct Line on Wednesday.

"This is pure fraud, we have articles on fraud in the Criminal Code. Law enforcement agencies must work more efficiently. They know about this, and the interior minister knows. I have discussed this with him in recent days," Putin said.

"This is a dangerous activity, a very dangerous kind of crime, in this case it also involves human health," Putin said. He also noted that law enforcement agencies should use all available resources to thwart such crimes. "The Interior Ministry knows about this and is determined to fight it," Putin stressed.

Earlier, the Interior Ministry warned about criminal responsibility for fake coronavirus vaccination certificates. On June 18, Moscow’s Head Department of the Interior Ministry said Moscow police officers had opened 24 criminal cases over the production and sales of fake medical notes about the absence of coronavirus, and fake vaccination certificates in the Moscow region. The wrongdoers are facing up to two years in prison under Article 327 of the Russian Criminal Code.
