Conceptual design of Venus exploring spacecraft to start in late 2023 — expert

The mission launch is planned in 2029

MOSCOW, April 10. /TASS/. Conceptual design studies of the Venera-D spacecraft for Venus exploration are intended to start in late 2023 - early 2024, Director of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences said on Monday.

"The preliminary design has been delivered currently and we are preparing to initiate the second stage at the turn of this year - early next year. This is the conceptual design," Anatoly Petrukovich said.

The mission launch is planned in 2029, Senior Research Fellow of the Institute Natan Eismont added.

The Venera-D mission consists of a landing module and an orbital spacecraft. The spacecraft is planned to be launched using the Angara-A5 heavy carrier vehicle.
