Russian FM recommends upper house to uphold Russia-Ukraine deal on Black Sea Fleet

MOSCOW, April 01. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s high-ranking diplomat said there are no grounds to discuss the agreements on the Black Sea Fleet with Ukraine following Crimea’s accession to Russia.

“Russia has terminated four agreements with Ukraine over the Black Sea Fleet. On March 16, the Crimean people voted for joining Russia in full compliance with international law,” the Foreign Ministry Third CIS Department senior counsellor, Vladimir Lysenko, told the Federation Council's Foreign Affairs Committee on Tuesday.

He recommended the upper house’s committee to uphold the termination of the agreements on the Black Sea Fleet.
