Funding for Russia’s Sfera program after 2024 will increase annually

Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov noted that the annual budget for the program’s funding was originally planned for 7 bln rubles

VOSTOCHNY COSMODROME, October 23. /TASS/. After 2024, funding for Russia’s Sfera program is expected to increase every year, according to Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov.

He noted that the annual budget for the program’s funding was originally planned for 7 bln rubles ($113.54 mln) for 2022-2024.

"In the next period until 2030, it is planned to increase the annual funding of the Sfera project using a total of 95 bln rubles of budget funds," Manturov said.

He added that extrabudgetary funding to maintain the efficiency of the Yamal and Smotr satellite constellations will amount to 85 bln rubles ($1.4 bln). "Extrabudgetary funding for a total of 85 bln rubles has been provided for maintaining the Yamal geostationary satellite communications system and creating the Smotr monitoring system," Manturov said.
