Russian MFA unaware of Estonia’s, Finland’s involvement in drone attacks on St Petersburg

Earlier, air defenses had destroyed a drone in the Tosno district and outside the town of Kirishi of Leningrad Region

MOSCOW, March 13. /TASS/. The Russian Foreign Ministry has no information that Finland and Estonia were involved in the recent drone attacks on St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Maria Zakharova, the ministry’s spokeswoman, said during a briefing.

"I have no such information," she said when asked about the two countries’ possible involvement in the attacks. "I do not deny this, but as of now, I have no such information."

On March 10, Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko said that air defenses had destroyed a drone in the Tosno district in his region and that the attack caused neither damage nor casualties. On March 12, Drozdenko said that there were no casualties or damage after a fixed-wing drone had been wiped out outside the town of Kirishi. Earlier, on March 2, the National Guard branch for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region reported that a drone crash is believed to have caused the emergency in St. Petersburg’s Krasnogvardeysky neighborhood.
