Putin arrives in Minsk for CSTO summit

According to the Kremlin press service, the agenda includes the "further improvement of the collective security system"

MINSK, November 23. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Minsk, Belarus, to take part in a summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

The session of the CSTO Council will be attended by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyz leader Sadyr Japarov and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon. The meeting is hosted by Alexander Lukashenko, the president of Belarus, the CSTO’s chair this year.

According to the Kremlin press service, the agenda includes the "further improvement of the collective security system, as well as topical international and regional issues."

Ahead of the top-level meeting, Minsk hosted a joint meeting of the top diplomats and military and security officials of the CSTO member countries discussing changes in the regional military and political situation.
