MOSCOW, October 10. /TASS/. Russia must respond to Ukraine’s terror attack on the Crimean bridge by directly killing terrorists, Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev told reporter Nadana Fridrikhson.
In a written interview published on Fridrikhson’s Telegram channel, Medvedev said: "Russia can only respond to this crime by directly killing terrorists, as is the custom elsewhere in the world. This is what Russian citizens expect."
Medvedev attributed the crime to what he said was the failed state of Ukraine. "That was a terrorist act and sabotage committed by the criminal Kiev regime. There never was any doubt about that. All reports were presented and conclusions made," he emphasized.
A truck exploded on the Crimean Bridge on Saturday morning, causing several fuel tanks of a train to catch fire. Three people were killed in the blast, and two spans of the bridge’s roadway to the peninsula collapsed. The railway and automobile traffic across the Crimean Bridge has so far been restored.
At a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday evening, the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, said that Ukraine's special services were behind the terrorist attack, with Russian citizens and foreigners acting as accomplices. Bastrykin said that a criminal probe had been launched, and suspects had already been identified with the operational support of FSB officers.
Putin stated that the attack perpetrated by the Kiev regime had been undoubtedly aimed at destroying Russia’s vital civilian infrastructure.
