Ukraine’s military attempts to break through Kherson defenses — local authorities

The Ukrainian military decided to deliver a serious strike and break through into the Kherson Region from three directions

MOSCOW, October 3. /TASS/. Ukrainian troops attempted to break through Kherson Region defenses from three directions but their attempts from two sides were thwarted, Head of the region’s military-civilian administration Vladimir Saldo said in a live broadcast on the Soloviev Live TV Channel on Monday.

"The Ukrainian military or its command decided to deliver a serious strike and break through into the Kherson Region from three directions. The Nikolayev area is the primary direction and the second one is [the village of] Davydov Brod and they also made an attempt from [the city of] Krivoi Rog and the Dnepropetrovsk Region. Their advance from Nikolayev failed and our troops thwarted their attempt. About the same happened in Davydov Brod while they managed to break through into the region from the north. They headed to [the village of] Dudchany to move further down the stream [of the Dnieper River] towards the Kakhovka HPP," he said.

The Kherson Region earlier joined Russia, following the results of the referendum.
