Five workers in grave condition after collapse at factory in Russia’s Norilsk

Four of them were moved to a hospital ward and another one is in intensive care, the Health Ministry in the Krasnoyarsk Region noted

TASS, February 21. Five workers, who were injured after a collapse at an enrichment factory in Russia’s Arctic city of Norilsk, are in stably serious condition, the Health Ministry in the Krasnoyarsk Region told TASS on Sunday.

"Five people are in stably serious condition. Four of them were moved to a hospital ward and another one is in intensive care. All of them are receiving medical assistance and those injured are under medical care," the ministry's press service said.

A crushing shop gallery collapsed at the plant in early morning of February 20. The collapse area was about 1,000 square meters. Eight individuals were present there at that time. Five of them were injured and three others died. The regional investigative committee opened a criminal case into the violation of safety rules, resulting in the death of two and more individuals.

February 22 has been declared as the day of mourning in Norilsk.
