Kiev cannot agree to gas price offered by Moscow — energy minister

KIEV, April 11. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine cannot agree to the natural gas price of $485 per 1,000 cubic metres that has been offered by Russia, Ukrainian Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Yuriy Prodan, appointed to the post by the Verkhovna Rada (parliament), said in Rada on Friday.

"Russia has presented a political price for gas to us. Ukraine cannot agree to pay such a political disadvantageous price," he noted.

According to him, the Ukrainian side is currently “in intensive negotiations with the European Commission on the reverse gas supplies.” “It’s the supplies from Poland and Hungary, in particular, the deliveries of 20 million cubic metres of gas per day from Poland,” Prodan said.
