BERLIN, November 5. /TASS/. The DAX, the benchmark index of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange comprising Germany’s 40 largest publicly traded companies, reached a record high of 26,644.33 points following the US congressional midterm elections, according to data published on the exchange’s website.
The previous record of 26,618.74 points was set in August of this year.
Analysts attribute the positive market sentiment to hopes for the steady development of relations between Europe and the United States.
Meanwhile, Rheinmetall shares plunged nearly 17% at the start of trading after the company revised downward its forecasts for key performance indicators for the current year.
