MOSCOW, October 5. /TASS/. Russian airline Red Wings is considering launching charter flights from Moscow to the Malaysian resort island of Langkawi in the summer of 2027, the carrier's press service told TASS.
"Red Wings is considering launching charter flights from a Moscow airport to Langkawi island as early as the summer of 2027. The flights are expected to be operated in partnership with tour operators and backed by Malaysia's Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture," the statement said.
The airline added that it already holds the necessary authorization to operate flights on this route.
In May, Russia's Ministry of Transport told TASS that the launch of a charter program between Russia and Malaysia had been postponed due to the lack of a commercial partner from the tourism industry. At that time, Red Wings was negotiating with tour operators to launch the flights, while simultaneously working on securing accreditation from Malaysian aviation authorities.
