Russian pipeline gas supplies to China up 32% in January-February to $1.75 bln

According to data provided by the General Administration of Customs, China imported pipeline gas worth $21.1 bln in 2024

BEIJING, March 20. /TASS/. Supplies of Russian pipeline gas to China in value terms increased by 32.2% in January-February year-on-year to $1.75 bln, which makes Russia the largest supplier of pipeline gas to China, according to figures released by the General Administration of Customs of China.

No information is usually provided by the customs service on physical volumes of pipeline gas supplies. Russia is followed by Turkmenistan ($1.38 bln, down by 15.3% year-on-year), Myanmar ($277 mln), Kazakhstan ($170 mln), and Uzbekistan ($49 mln) in terms of pipeline gas deliveries to China.

According to data provided by the General Administration of Customs, China imported pipeline gas worth $21.1 bln in 2024, which is 8.6% higher than in 2023. Supplies from Russia rose by 25% to $8.03 bln.
