Number of Russian billionaires reaches record 125 — Forbes

Vagit Alekperov, founder of Lukoil, comes in at number one with a net worth of $28.6 billion

MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. The number of Russian dollar billionaires in the Forbes world ranking has grown from 110 to 125 people since last year, the magazine reported.

This is the most in the history of the list. The previous record for the number of Russians in the ranking was registered in 2021 - 123 people.

According to the Russian version of Forbes, the total net worth of the richest Russians increased by 14% over the year and reached $576.8 billion. As the publication notes, this amount is lower than the all-time record set in 2021, when 123 Russian billionaires had a total capital of $606.2 billion.

Vagit Alekperov, founder of Lukoil, comes in at number one with a net worth of $28.6 billion.

He is followed by Novatek CEO Leonid Mikhelson, whose net worth is estimated at $27.4 billion.

NLMK's main shareholder Vladimir Lisin ranks third with a net worth of $26.6 billion.

Next in the ranking is Severstal's main shareholder and chairman of the board Alexey Mordashov ($25.5 billion).

President of Norilsk Nickel, Vladimir Potanin closes out the top five with a net worth of $23.7 billion.

The fortune of businessman and founder of Eurochem Andrey Melnichenko, last year's richest Russian, decreased to $21.1 billion as he moved down to seventh place.
