ASTANA, September 25. /TASS/. Trade between Russia and Kazakhstan exceeded 1.5 trillion rubles ($15.6 bln) in January-July, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
"Last year it reached about two trillion rubles. This year - from January to July - it is already more than 1.5 trillion rubles ($15.6 bln)," Mishustin said citing statistics.
He noted that Moscow is developing cooperation with Astana in all areas, including in the areas of production, technology and investment.
"As for Russia and Kazakhstan, we are strengthening cooperation in all areas. This is cooperation in scientific, technical, production, investment [areas]," he said,
Mishustin pointed out that a number of large-scale projects are already being implemented in Kazakhstan together with Russia - in the automotive, aviation, light, petrochemical, metallurgical and digital industries. He also focused separately on the topic of interregional cooperation.
"It is very gratifying that our regions, the heads of regions, have direct connections with Kazakh partners. Seventy-six such direct agreements have been concluded," the head of the Russian government said.
