Novatek to construct, launch Arctic LNG-2, Obsky LNG by 2029 — energy minister

Earlier, CEO Leonid Mikhelson said that Novatek maintained the Arctic LNG-2 commissioning period, with the first stage to be commissioned in late 2023, the second stage - in 2024, and the third stage - in 2026

MOSCOW, March 15. /TASS/. Novatek plans to construct and bring to projected capacity Arctic LNG-2 and Obsky LNG in 2024-2029, Minister Nikolay Shulginov said addressing the State Duma (lower house) on Wednesday.

"In 2024-2029 Novatek plans to complete the construction of facilities and bring to projected capacity Arctic LNG-2 and Obsky LNG. All of them are in the Arctic," he said.

Earlier, CEO Leonid Mikhelson said that Novatek maintained the Arctic LNG-2 commissioning period, with the first stage to be commissioned in late 2023, the second stage - in 2024, and the third stage - in 2026.

The company also plans to take an investment decision on the Obsky LNG project in Q2-Q3 2023.
