CHISINAU, August 28. /ITAR-TASS/. Moldova is stepping up defense cooperation with the European Union and will build good-neighborly relations with Romania and Ukraine based on European values, according to the Moldova-NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan for 2014-2016.
The document, which also recommends developing relations with Russia in the spirit of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, was earlier approved by parliamentarians.
The Moldova-NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan envisions Moldovan servicemen’s participation in international peacekeeping operations.
According to surveys’ data, 14% of Moldovan citizens support the country’s accession to the Alliance; 52% of citizens consider neutrality the best way for ensuring security; and 12% back the country’s joining the CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization).
