Russia not targeting civilian facilities — Russia’s UN envoy

We are not acting like the Americans and their allies were acting in Iraq when they wiped out entire cities, Nebenzya noted

UNITED NATIONS, April 5. /TASS/. Russia’s forces never target civilian facilities in the course of the special military operation in Ukraine, trying to save as many civilians as possible, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzya said on Tuesday.

"It is necessary to remove this Nazi tumor, which is consuming Ukraine. <…> We will attain this goal sooner than later. There is no other ways," he said at a United Nations Security Council meeting. "We don’t target civilian facilities to save as many civilians as possible. That is why our advance is not that rapid as many expected."

"We are not acting like the Americans and their allies were acting in Iraq when they wiped out entire cities," he noted. "They cared little about them. We care because Ukrainians are our kin. But radicals have nothing to lose, they don’t care about civilians. They are ready to drive Ukraine’s entire population to the grave along with themselves. The provocation in Bucha has clearly demonstrated that."

"Vladimir Alexandrovich [Zelenssky], don’t let the West realize its plan. Please, make the right decisions your country needs because the West is going to fight till the last Ukrainian," Nebenzya called. "Make this decision right now. You know the actual situation perfectly well. It may be too late later.".
