MOSCOW, August 15. /TASS/. Former Interior Minister of Afghanistan, Ahmad Jalali will lead the transitional government in Afghanistan, Al Arabiya TV channel reports.

According to information from diplomatic sources, Jalali has been chosen as head of the transitional government of Afghanistan. He assumed the duties of the head of the interim administration in Afghanistan, the TV channel said.

Pakistan's GEO TV said that "Abdullah Abdullah, the head of Afghanistan's High Council for National Reconciliation, is acting as the arbitrator in the negotiations" between the Taliban and the government in Kabul.

According to Lebanese Al Mayadeen television channel, the plane of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani is ready for his evacuation from Kabul.

On Sunday morning, Taliban militants started entering Kabul from all sides. Later on Sunday, Afghanistan’s Acting Interior Minister Abdul Sattar Mirzakwal told the TOLOnews television channel that the city would not be stormed. The transition of power will be peaceful, he assured the city residents.
