MOSCOW, November 2. /TASS/. Russia and African countries have more in common than geographical distance might suggest, particularly when it comes to spirituality, traditional values and the importance of human relationships, Ugandan educator and founder of the Chunga-Changa interactive Russian-language school Daniel Omara told TASS.
Following the recent Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow, Omara spoke about the similarities he has noticed after experiencing both Ugandan and Russian cultures, saying that people in both societies share a strong sense of spirituality.
"Africans and Russians have a lot in common. They’re very similar people because they are almost like spiritual people," he said.
He believes this is reflected in the way people approach relationships and make decisions, placing importance on the human side of things rather than simply personal interests.
"Africans and Russians are very spiritual in their relationships with each other. This means that we will always make decisions operating our principle point of navigation is the soul," Omara said.
For him, this shared outlook is also closely connected to the idea of justice and treating others with consideration, whether they are friends or opponents.
"Justice can only come from someone who has his opponent or his friend at heart or, in this case, their soul," he said.
