MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. Russia is doing everything it can to see to it that people can safely choose where to evacuate from the city of Alyoshki in the Kherson Region and hopes Kiev will not hinder this, Russian Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova said.

"And the Russian side is doing and will continue to do everything possible to ensure that people are granted the freedom of choice that best takes their safety into account. We hope that the Ukrainian side will not take any steps that would hinder this, as has happened on more than one occasion," she wrote on messaging app Max.

She stressed that the key task of the upcoming humanitarian operation in Alyoshki is to learn about the needs of the city’s residents, form a humanitarian convoy and deliver relief aid, including medicine, food products, hygiene and sanitation products, and daily necessities.

Another task is to ensure the evacuation of those willing to leave the city, she said, adding that, according to the local authorities, there are not so many people ready to take that step. "Since most of those who wanted to leave have already left, and they left entirely of their own free will. The remaining people will certainly be given the same opportunity," she noted.

She also said that Russian soldiers are providing people with humanitarian aid and all necessary supplies, as well as clearing roads of mines after Ukrainian drone attacks, all at peril to their own lives. Russian doctors are also being killed and injured when Ukrainian drones strike ambulances, Lantratova added.
