Relations of Myanmar, Russia have ‘very good’ potential — Putin

The Russian president also noted cooperation on the international stage

MOSCOW, March 4. /TASS/. Relations between Russia and Myanmar have a good potential for development, Russian President Vladimir Putin said as he opened talks with Myanmar Prime Minister Min Aung Hlaing.

"Relations between our countries are indeed making progress. Last year, trade increased by 40%. This is a good indicator," he said. "We have very good potential."

The Russian president also noted cooperation on the international stage. He thanked his vis-a-vis for helping Moscow work with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

Putin mentioned that it is not the first time that his guest has come to Russia, but this time the visit has a very extensive itinerary that includes trips to three cities.

"I am sure it will be both useful and interesting," he said.

The Russian leader mentioned that 2025 marks a quarter century since the signing of the declaration on the foundations of friendship between the two countries.
