Russia-Brazil trade turnover amounted to $8.4 bln in 2023

The international group also explored boosting the supply of Russian mineral fertilizers to Brazil

MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. The volume of bilateral trade between Russia and Brazil in 2023 remained at the level of the historical record in 2022 and reached $8.4 bln, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Vladimir Ilyichev said on Tuesday.

"Russian-Brazilian cooperation is based on mutual respect, equal consideration of each other’s interests, similar national long-term interests and approaches to resolving pressing international problems. Russian-Brazilian trade and economic ties are stable and have positive dynamics. In 2023, Russian-Brazilian trade turnover maintained the previous year's record levels and amounted to $8.4 bln," Ilyichev said.

The international group also explored boosting the supply of Russian mineral fertilizers to Brazil. In 2023, more than 8 mln tons of fertilizers were sent to the country, accounting for around 25% of all Russian fertilizer exports.

"It is important that during the negotiations we were able to reach fundamental agreements on further increasing bilateral trade turnover, including by increasing the number of goods with a high share of added value. By the end of this year, members of the Russian-Brazilian Business Council will hold business meetings mission of Russian companies to Brazil," the Deputy Minister said.
