Russian Baltic Fleet aircraft conduct bombing exercise near Kaliningrad

The fighter crews also fired S-8 unguided rockets and a 30mm automatic rapid-fire cannon to destroy targets simulating enemy columns of armored and automotive vehicles

KALININGRAD, July 28. /TASS/. The Su-30SM2 multirole fighter crews of Russia’s Baltic Fleet’s naval aviation have carried out precision bombing and assault strikes against a simulated enemy at an aviation range in the eastern part of the Kaliningrad Region, the Baltic Fleet press service reported.

"During the training flights, the crews practiced their mission tasks, such as providing fire support to units, destroying command posts, fortifications, and concentrations of armored vehicles and personnel of a simulated enemy," the statement reads.

After reconnoitering the terrain and positions of the simulated enemy, the pilots flew to the designated area and conducted precision bombing runs on full-size targets using P-50T aircraft bombs. The fighter crews also fired S-8 unguided rockets and a 30mm automatic rapid-fire cannon to destroy targets simulating enemy columns of armored and automotive vehicles.

About 10 Su-30SM2 aircraft crews from the Baltic Fleet’s naval aviation participated in the exercise.
