ROSTOV-ON-DON, April 5. /TASS/. Eight people have reportedly suffered injuries in Russia’s Rostov Region after a drone carrying an explosive device crashed and blew up, Governor Vasily Golubev said.
"According to preliminary reports, eight people suffered injuries near an airfield in the Morozovsky District after an explosive device attached to a drone that came down blew up. They were carrying out investigative activities at the drone crash site. The injured have been taken to the hospital for medical treatment," the governor wrote on Telegram.
Golubev added that additional medical teams had been dispatched to Morozovsk. Investigative efforts are underway.
Air defenses destroyed over 40 fixed-wing drones in the Morozovsky District in the early hours of Friday. The attack damaged a power substation. The governor said earlier that emergency crews from the Rosseti power company were carrying out repairs. In addition, the windows of several apartments were shattered in a residential building and some private household buildings were damaged.
