TEHRAN, November 1. /TASS/. Iran has designated the UK’s Royal Navy and Royal Air Force as terrorist organizations and has classified the British foreign intelligence service MI6 as a hostile group, the Foreign Ministry said.
According to its statement, "the British foreign intelligence service (MI6) is subject to Note 2 of Article 1 of the law ‘On Tightening Penalties for Espionage and Collaboration with the Zionist Regime and Hostile Countries Against National Security and Interests’ as a hostile group, and the provisions of this law regarding it will apply" as of the publication of the statement.
The document noted that these measures were adopted by the Supreme National Security Council in response to London's hostile actions over the past year, which include participating in the US and Israeli war against Iran by providing bases and facilities on its territory. The document also referenced the July 13 decision to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, the elite units of Iran’s armed forces) as a terrorist organization on July 13 under the 2026 Law on State Threats. The ministry emphasized that the UK’s Royal Navy and Royal Air Force fall under the law on retaliatory measures in connection with the US designation of the IRGC as a terrorist organization and are, on this basis, considered terrorist entities. The statement stressed that responsibility for the consequences lies with the UK government.
