The US president said that Islam wants to take over France

WASHINGTON, October 6. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump believes that France is facing the consequences of its overly lenient immigration policy and that Islam wants "to take over" that country.

"What’s happening in France is nothing less than out of control mass migration. This isn’t about schools, this is about Islam wanting to take over a once great country," he wrote on his Truth Social platform.

High school student protests broke out in the capital region of Ile-de-France in late September, now spreading to the entire country. Demonstrators are protesting against overstretched schedules, teacher shortages and other problems facing the education system. In some areas, protests escalated into unrest and clashes with police. Law enforcement officers have so far detained over 6,000 people, 90% of them minors.
