DUBAI, December 19. /TASS/. At least 43 people were killed following a series of Israeli air strikes in the Gaza Strip over the past day, Qatar-based Al Jazeera television channel reported on Thursday.
The Israeli Defense Forces delivered air strikes targeting the districts in the center and north of the enclave, according to Al Jazeera.
The Health Ministry of the Gaza Strip reported earlier that almost 45,100 Palestinians have been killed and more than 107,200 were injured following the Israeli army’s offensive on the territory of the enclave since the beginning of the military operation in October 2023.
Tensions flared up again in the Middle East on October 7, 2023, when militants from the Gaza Strip-based radical Palestinian movement Hamas staged a surprise attack on Israeli territory from Gaza, killing residents of Israeli border settlements and taking hostages.
In response, Israel launched a military operation in the Palestinian enclave to destroy Hamas military and political wings and free all hostages.
