MADRID, December 5. /TASS/. The West is considering relocating Vladimir Zelensky to London in the event a ceasefire is reached in Ukraine, sources in official Kiev posit, according to the El Mundo newspaper.
"A rumor has been circulating in diplomatic circles in the Ukrainian capital for the past two weeks that, when a hypothetical ceasefire occurs, the West is preparing a ‘golden exile’ for Vladimir Zelensky in London while Ukraine holds presidential elections," the publication claims. According to the report, this move could allegedly be accompanied by the country's "swift" accession to the EU, with economic aid for reconstruction and the deployment of European peacekeeping forces. These military forces are expected to come primarily from the UK and France.
On June 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin outlined the country’s conditions for settling the situation in Ukraine at a meeting with Russia’s Foreign Ministry. These included the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donbass and Novorossiya and Kiev’s refusal to join NATO. In addition, Russia demands that all Western sanctions against it be lifted and insists that Ukraine commit to a non-aligned, nuclear-free status.
