"Israel's frequent attacks on targets in Lebanon and Syria are a serious violation of the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the countries involved, and [it] increases tensions in the region. Such provocative actions could provoke an escalation of the crisis and endanger the security of the entire region. These actions must stop immediately," he said at a UN Security Council meeting convened at Russia's request in connection with the Israeli strike on Iranian diplomatic facilities in Syria.
