With 99.43% of ballots counted, Russian presidential race frontrunner and incumbent President Putin leads the 2024 presidential race with 87.32% of the vote, according to information posted on the Russian Central Election Commission’s official website.

"As President of Honduras and Chair of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), I send a message of congratulations to President Vladimir Putin on his convincing victory in the Russian election," she wrote on her page on X.

Earlier, a number of Latin American leaders, namely Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, Nicaraguan leader Daniel Ortega, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel and President of Bolivia Luiz Arce, conveyed their congratulations to the Russian leader.
