BUDAPEST, March 4. /TASS/. Hungary wants to preserve economic relations with Russia and has to reject them only in areas where sanctions of the European Union are in effect, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said.

"Hungary is between the East and the West and counts on developing relations between the two worlds. We will not separate ourselves from the eastern part of the world," Orban said. Hungary is interested in developing ties with Turkey, Central Asia, China, and Russia, the prime minister noted. "We will refuse to cooperate in Russia only where it is excluded by Western sanctions," he added.

Europeans were not able to localize the conflict in Ukraine and lost suitable time to quickly enter into a peaceful settlement when even Russia was interested in that, Orban added.
